Cool Computer-On-A-Stick
I came across this product from fingergear - computer on a stick. It's a USB flash drive that is ready to go as a full computer with the OS and all files preloaded. I was trying to do this myself but I couldn't get the partitions to be protected and secure and I found the COS and it has it all pre-loaded. I guess I'm just not good enough as a linux hack to set it up right. I keep erasing my OS! Has anyone heard anything about it? I'd like to get it but I want to check it out first. http://fingergear.com

Daniel,
This is a very neat item. I actually had created the exact same thing as this about a year ago, and it still works great today. I have 2 partitions on the USB device, one being the system and the other being the data. However, I have not found a great way of protecting the system partition (I can make it read only, however that is easily undone.) I assume that they have some proprietary trickery that they have done to keep the system safe. (or... they simply don't protect it and if you mess it up, it's your fault.) I may need to buy one of these and see how it compares to mine.
