Log file help
I am looking for help in generating log file names. I have a web page with telnet://x.x.x.x and ssh://x.x.x.x URL links to start my sessions.
Using the default sessions settings for the log file name (C:\Capture\%H-(%h-%m)-(%D-%M-%Y).txt) the file name gets created with %H = to x.x.x.x from the URL link. Is there any way to get the hostname resolved instead of grabbing the IP address from the %1 variable in the URL link? I have messed with the crt.session.log stuff in my login script but %H still equals the ip address. Help a script newbie out if possible!! Thanks! |

I was thinking more about this.
If there is a script were I can issue the "get hostname" command after logging in and send the output to a variable, that variable could be used to create the log file name next. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! P.S. Mods, if this thread should be under scripting, sorry!! Please move if so. Last edited by Morham; 09-15-2006 at 07:04 AM. |
