Automatic PGP encryption when transmitting files via SFTP
We use PGP to encrypt files that we SFTP to vendors so that the files are still encrypted when they arrive, until the vendor decrypts them. This is to prevent unauthorized people, such as other customers of that vendor, from seeing plain text versions of our data.
We are currently doing this with WS/FTP Pro, which can be configured to do this PGP encryption step automatically and transparently. The user simply SFTP's the file to the vendor, and WS/FTP Pro takes care of the PGP encryption automatically on the fly. So if we send xyz.csv -- it arrives at the vendor's FTP site as xyz.csv.pgp. Can SecureFX be configured to do this also? Last edited by shoebear; 02-06-2014 at 05:24 PM. |

Hi shoebear,
Currently, SecureFX doesn't have the ability to encrypt a file using pgp prior to sending it. I have created a feature request in our SecureFX enhancement database to add the ability. Should a future release of SecureFX have the ability to encrypt a file using pgp prior to sending it, we will post to this forum thread. If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location: Submit Feature Request |

PGP support has been added to a pre-beta version of SecureFX. If you would like to try it, please send email to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
