linux username changed

I am using RHEL6 with securecrt 8.1.3. My username changed on my workstation all my home files were migrated to my new home. When I tried to run secureCRT it could not find my license file so I re-entered the license info and it is trying to write to my old home directory which it does not have access to. How can I get it to use my new home directory?

Hi ChrisV,

If SecureCRT is running in evaluation, then you may just need to change the Config path in the General / Configuration Paths category of Global Options.

However, if you already had evaluated v8.1.3 before licensing it (under the old profile) and it's prompting you for license data immediately, then try Plan B:

The SecureCRT.conf file (in ~/.config/VanDyke directory) is where the Config Path location is maintained. It's likely that is still pointing to the config path associated with your old user profile (which is where the .lic file is written to).

Hi ChrisV,

So you were able to change Config Path, I assume.

I am glad to hear it's resolved.
