Success: SecureCRT + Linux console formatted screens

I was reading this old thread trying to figure out how to get some of the Red Hat console-formatted screens (e.g. commands like rhn_register, system-config-network) to look correct via an SSH session. In the past, I had been connecting to the console to get these kinds of things to look/work right. A pain.

I finally found a "working combination" with SecureCRT which I am documenting here. See the two attached screen shots, one of which details the config settings in SecureCRT and in the Linux shell.

Thanks for the post. It looks like you are using Linux emulation and an alternate keyboard emulation of VT220. Did you find that the alternate keyboard emulation was necessary - certain keys don't work right for you unless you chose the alternate?

I see that line drawing is working for you. A window shot showing Session Options / Terminal / Appearance may be helpful to some since it would show the font used, character encoding, and whether you needed to enable Use Unicode line-drawing characters.

I used VT220 keyboard due to requirements of a particular text editor I am using under Linux.
