SecureFX icon is not shown

Hi,

If the SecureFx shortcut on the desktop is deleted, SecureFX icon is not shown in the taskbar or the application folder. I am wondering how to fix the problem. I am currently using version 7.2.1.

Thanks,
Joon

Hi Joon,

Thanks for the post. What operating system are you using?

Do you know if SecureFX was installed to a non-default location?

Have you tried using the search capabilities of your operating system to find SecureFX.exe?

You may also consider checking the trash bin to see if you can restore the icon.

You may want to check the following location if you are using Windows Vista or newer:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VanDyke Software

Yes, I installed it on non-default location.

In this case, is there any solution to fix this?

Thanks,
Joon

SecureCRT icon is still shown unlike SecureFX.

Is there any solution to fix it?

Thanks,

Hi Joon,

If you have been able to locate the SecureFX.exe binary file, you can right-click on the file, and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

Does this help you create a new SecureFX shortcut?

If you can't find the SecureFX.exe binary file, you could check the properties (right-click on SecureCRT shortcut and select Properties from the context menu) of the SecureCRT shortcut. The Target: input box in the Shortcut tab will tell you where the SecureCRT.exe binary is located. If you used the integrated installer, that should also be where the SecureFX.exe binary is located.

If you can't find the SecureFX.exe binary, and you didn't use the integrated installer, can you confirm that SecureFX is still installed on your machine?
