Question SecureCRT v3.4.8 and encoding?

Hello.

In PuTTY, I can change its encoding to UTF-8 like shown in http://www.serverwatch.com/tutorials...-Solutions.htm ... Can old SecureCRT v3.4.8 do this? I was not able to find that setting. My fonts and alignments get mess up in some shell programs.

Thank you in advance.

Hi ant,

SecureCRT 3.4.8 did not have the ability to use UTF-8. This capability is available in SecureCRT 6.5.4. You are welcome to download an evaluation copy of 6.5.4 from the following location:
http://vandyke.com/download/securecrt/download.html
You can configure the Character Encoding: option on a per session basis in the Terminal / Appearance category of the Session Options dialog.

Does SecureCRT 6.5.4 meet your needs?

Not at this time since I don't have the budget to upgrade yet. I will stick with PuTTY for now. I only use SecureCRT for its SSH2 and Z-modem file transfer support so... Thanks though.
