Hi u4_13,

Thanks for the post. Currently, SecureCRT logs data after receiving a line ending character.

The program you are using is not sending line ending characters. It is "painting" the terminal window using escape codes.

We will post to this forum thread if we add the ability to log data when line ending characters are not sent to SecureCRT.

Hi u4_13,

I was discussing your goal with a colleague, and I have some questions.

What problem are you trying to solve by logging this data?

Are you trying to gain access to some specific information?

What would be the purpose of this log?

The purpose is in our company mostly, we receive request to send screen terminal output and this require select screen display page by page and copy it onto text file.

It is will helpful if find screen display output on the log file. I found this work fine on one Terminal software by chose "Discard emulation control codes" and I hope to have same function on SecureCRT because I like other functions on it.

Thanks u4_13.

We do have a simple example script that may be helpful in the absence of the feature.

You could map this script to a button on the Button Bar (View / Button Bar).

You can map a script to a button on the Button Bar using the following instructions:
  1. Right-click on a button on the Button Bar.
  2. Select Run Script from the Function dropdown menu.
  3. Browse to the script file location in the Run Script field.
  4. Give the button a label.

The ability to log all data that comes to the screen, even when SecureCRT does not receive carriage returns has been added to a pre-beta version of SecureCRT. Please email me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com if you would like to try it.
