SecureCRT 6.5 (beta) substring highlighting
Highlighting is a great feature. Makes it a lot easier parsing though syslog entries looking for particular strings.
One thing I noticed, if I'm searching on the string 'exitval' then '=exitval' is not highlighted but 'exitval=" is highlighted. It seems the search strings have to be the start of a word. Another example: looking for 'opstatus' and 'last_opstatus'. If I enter 'opstatus' as the word then 'opstatus=0' looks good but 'last_opstatus=0' has no highlights. Thanks, Kev |

Hi Kev,
I am glad to hear that you find the keyword highlighting feature useful. Currently, SecureCRT will only highlight words that begin with the phrase to be highlighted. I have created a feature request on your behalf in our SecureCRT development database to allow for sub-string or phrase matches to occur. Should a future release of SecureCRT have this capability we will post to this forum thread. If you would like to be notified directly, please send an email to support@vandyke.com with a subject of Feature Request in Forum Thread #4414. |

The ability to match substrings when doing keyword highlighting has been added to SecureCRT 8.7, which is currently in beta testing. It can be downloaded here.
