The private key file could not be found
In order to facilitate the use of KeePass I have enabled the "Display logon prompts in terminal window" under Options => Connection => Logon Actions. Since doing this I now see the following message when logging on to Cisco IOS devices using ssh:
============================================ The private key file could not be found: ::rawkey Note that the public key file and private key file must have the same name (e.g., "Identity.pub" and "Identity") and must be located in the same folder. The system cannot find the path specified. password: ============================================ I do not see this when logging onto a non-IOS platform. I also don't see this when logging on using other emulators, like OpenSSH in a command window. It really is just a nuisance but what might be causing this? Thanks! |

Hi NetWorker1,
Are you using saved sessions to connect to your Cisco devices? If so, what is the order of the authentication methods in Connection / SSH2 category? It's likely PublicKey is higher in the order than Password. If you move Password so it is first, what is the result? If you have more than one saved session exhibiting this behavior, you can change them all at once using the multiple session change mechanism described in this tip.
