Hi Usman,
Thanks for the question. Currently, it is not possible to use VShell Database User accounts with Shell access. I have created a feature request in our VShell enhancement database to add this capability. Should a future release of VShell have this capability, we will post to this forum thread. If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location: Submit Feature Request |

Hello All,
Shell access and remote execute is now supported for VShell internal database user accounts (in addition to the port forwarding support Todd previously mentioned in another thread post). If you would like to test this new functionality in a pre-release build, please contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #5867" in the subject line. Please state whether you need a 32-bit or 64-bit and non-FTPS or FTPS version of VShell installer. Also, please provide the email address used to register for your VanDyke Software download account (if not writing us from that email address). If you do not have a download account, you may register using the registration form link in the blue screened box on the download account login page. The registration form helps ensure that we are compliant with U.S. Homeland Security export restrictions for strong encryption software. This is a one-time only requirement.
