Hi g114112118s,
You wrote you wanted to customize the title bar, but then have provided a hierarchy that seems to represent the session names as displayed in the Connect dialog. Do you want to change the session names? Or do you only want to change the tab title (caption) and title bar? Do you want the change to be temporary or permanent? There are five methods (I can think of) to configure a tab title:

Thanks Brenda.!...referring to your snap, windows title should say either "CISCO Routers - 10.0.100.1" or "CISCO Routers" is also just fine.

Hi g114112118s,
This is not currently automatically possible. You can use %S (for session name) in the Title bar option in the Terminal / Appearance / Window category of SecureCRT's Session Options, but there is not currently a way to include the subfolder of the session. I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for a new substitution parameter to indicate the path to the session's subfolder for logging purposes (%F). Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here. If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #10575" in the subject line. Currently, you would have to achieve this by entering CISCO Routers - %S in the Title bar field and enabling the option.

Thank you, is there any way that, without touching tab name, can change the title only. is there is any tweak can be done via ini, i am fine with tab-naming. just need to do something identifiable for the title only.

Hi g114112118s,
It is not currently possible to set the tab and window captions separately. I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the bility to set window and tab captions independently. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here. If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #10575" in the subject line.

Hi g114112118s,
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can change the tab name in your code too: Code:
crt.Window.Caption = "A string of your choice" I picked up this code snippet on this site somewhere. I wish I could give credit for it, but I just don't remember. Rick |

A new substitution parameter %F has been added that can be used to specify the session's subfolder in a log filename. This has been implemented in a pre-beta version of SecureCRT. If you'd like to try it, please send email to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
