Arch with KDE.
Disabling CUPS fixed the issue completely for me, just need to know how to fix it so I don't have to disable it.

Disabling cups solved the problem.

But whatever the issue is with cups, it returns once I connect to my office VPN. It require a log-out to goes away, always returning when I reconnect.

My earlier post was not intended to deceive in any way .

We don't yet have a fix available, but if the problem gets resolved, we will indeed post notification here.

Potential fix

I ran into the same issue on Fedora 27, and resolved it by disabling the avahi-daemon. It wasn't providing any service I required. YMMV

This worked for me (also Fedora 27)! Thank you so much for sharing this! How were you able to figure this out?

I ran SecureCRT under strace to see where it was hanging. I saw some SRV record lookups that stalled. I always disable Avahi, but hadn't on this box, so it clicked. Glad it helped.

Hi all,

Support for Ubuntu 17 is planned for the next maintenance release of SecureCRT (v8.3.3 on May 3).

However for the printing/CUPS issue, see Maureen's post here.
