Screen Resizes when Connecting to Session
I'm having an issue where every time I connect to a session, the screen becomes full size and I lose the menu bar.
Moreover, the only way I've found to leave fullscreen once entering is to right click the SecureCRT icon on my taskbar and select Close and then reopen SecureCRT. But of course the moment I open another session, I'm back to full screen. Pressing "Alt + Enter" does nothing. In fact, if I do an "Alt + V" to bring up the View menu, Full Screen is greyed out but check marked. I verified that the "Save window state for each session" under Terminal in the Global Options is unchecked. I even tried checking and then unchecking to see if it made a difference, and no dice. I've also upgraded to the latest code version available to me (8.1.4) and the problem persists. Any other suggestions to try? |

Hi pnash,
It sounds like maybe Disable resize has been enabled either globally or on a session basis (but possibly applied to all sessions using Default Session). It is a tri-state option. In Global Options, it is found in the Terminal / Advanced category. In Session Options, it is found in the Terminal / Appearance / Window category. The state as found in Session Options determines the behavior:

It was in fact enabled. Unchecking those boxes did the trick.
Thanks! |

Hi pnash,
Great, I am glad to hear the issue is resolved. ![]() For anyone else that reads this and is not familiar with bulk changes via Default Session, here are the tips on our website: https://www.vandyke.com/support/tips/defaultset.html

Hi Brenda,
I ran into the same issue but I don't seem to find the Disable Resize option, it doesn't exist in Global Options or in Session Options. I'm using Version 8.3.0 (build 1514) on macOS. Am I doing something wrong? Cheers! Alex. |

Hi metallicat,
I'm sorry you're having trouble. Can you tell me a little more about the behavior you're seeing? I've tried reproducing the behavior that pnash described in their post on a Mac and have been unsuccessful so far.

Hi Eric,
Every time I open a session it changes the size of the whole window to whatever it was when I created the session (that's an educated guess). It doesn't seem to happen when I'm using SCRT on a full screen, but I mostly don't. I didn't find any settings regarding the window size in any session or global settings. |

Hi metallicat,
Are you able to resize the window once it's open? If you navigate to Options > Global Options > Terminal is Save save window state for each session enabled?

I am able to resize the window once it's open, but when I close the session and open it again the size changes back to what it was before the resize.
"Save window state for each session" is disabled at the moment, but I did try to enable it, didn't change anything. |

Hi metallicat,
I'm sorry you're still having trouble. I'm having some trouble recreating the issue you are seeing. Is there a set of steps I could take to recreate the problem? Would you be able to share a set of screen shots or, even better, a video demonstrating the issue? Please send any screen shots or videos to Support@VanDyke.com with "Attn Eric Forum Post 12859" in the subject line.
