Server does not have a hostkey; contact server administrator.
Hello -
Im trying to setup a new session from SecureFX to VShell but keep getting the dreaded message below. Ive tried playing with selecting and deselecting various key exchanges but cannot get it to work. I've reviewed the FAQ but still no luck. Key exchange failed.//No compatible key-exchange method. The server supports these methods: //Server does not have a hostkey; contact server administrator. One thing I noticed was that the path that it looks for the knownhosts in doesnt exist. Any advice please? Thanks, Shane |

Hi getoffmypatch,
I am sorry to hear that you are running into some trouble! I would like to gather some additional information from you regarding the issue. Are you operating both SecureFX and VShell? Can you please elaborate on what you meant when you said that the path doesn't exist? Is this your first time trying to connect to a host using this installation of SecureFX? Or are you able to successfully connect to other hosts? The "KnownHosts" folder will not be created in the Config folder until a host key is successfully saved. The error message that you provided indicates that VShell is not configured with a host key.
