Question Quickly Zoom SecureCRT Fonts While Presenting

I often am projecting my SecureCRT sessions for team meetings and I have yet to find an easy way to quickly make the fonts look readable for attendees.

Is there a quick way to "zoom" in on my sessions so people in the room can actually see what is on the screen?

I'd like to be able to quickly switch back to the default font size for my normal work.

I tried using the Appearance, Font..., and changing font sizes, but I ended up with Huge jagged-edged fonts that only displayed half the letter on each line of the screen. I'm using 6.2.3 on Windows XP.

What would be *fantastic* is using Ctrl-Plus (Ctrl-+) like you can in a web browser to zoom into the page step at a time.

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Dan

Hello Dan,

This functionality is not currently available in SecureCRT.

I have added this thread to two feature requests in our product enhancement database that seem appropriate:
  • Option to change font and font size from the toolbar/shortcut keys
  • Add ability to zoom in on text using the Ctrl key and Mouse wheel
Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #10352" in the subject line.

To minimize the jagged appearance of the fonts (when using the manual method to change fonts you described), enable Use ClearType to smooth edges of screen fonts in the Terminal / Appearance category of SecureCRT's Global Options (if not already enabled).

This has been implemented in a pre-beta version of SecureCRT for Windows and Mac. The zooming can be controlled using the keyboard or the scroll wheel. If you would be interested in trying it, please send email to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.

Implementing this feature without an option for to disable it is very tricky.....

Please make this feature optionally so everyone could decide if he want have it active or not.

Because the Problem is:

ALT GR and the Key +(~*) which I am primary using for print the sign ~ (that is the symbol for users home).

Now every time i am using ~ the font is zooming in!

best regards

fred

Hello,

The ability to disable zooming with the mouse scrollwheel is now available in a newer (pre-release) build of SecureCRT.

If you would like to try the new build, please send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #10352" in the subject line.

If not writing from the same email address used for your Vandyke Software download account, please include that email address, along with whether you need:
  • Integrated installer or non-integrated
  • 32-bit or 64-bit
  • Windows, Mac or Linux

CescureCRTMouse Wheel Font Size Scrolling

It is now May 2016 and I am running Version 7.3.6 (x64 build 963) and, when I first installed SecureCRT, it seemed to me that it honored the mouse wheel font scrolling but lately has "delcined to do so".

(1) Is this feature implemented?

(2) How is it enabled/disabled?

..plus any other inside dope you can provide in this incredibly obtuse "support forum".

Thank you.
