Audio bell not working with SecureCRT local shell on 8.7 beta 01/09/20.
The bell (beep) doesn't seam to work on the local shell with SecureCRT 8.7 beta 01/09/20. Windows 10 Pro 64bit 1909 OS Build 18363.592, up to date as of this post.
I have tested via: 1. Windows cmd.exe. I did an echo ^G and got nothing. This works with the Windows command console. 2. Cygwin 64bit. Again ^G either typed, echoed or anything else that would cause a bell (beep) does not work. However, mintty does work with Cygwin. I assume this may have something to do with the new Windows ConPTY subsystem as the Microsoft Windows Terminal (Preview) app does not work either. It looks great and I do appreciate the work on this. I do notice some strange random hangs. I assumed this was Cygwin but now I am not so sure. (I took Windows Defender out of the equation.) The cursor will also disappear sometimes but just on one line in vim. It is visible on the line below and above. I am getting the impression that Windows ConPTY is not a "Unix feature" as is claimed ![]() ![]() |
