Losing log data on power fail

I am using SecureCRT to test an intermittent power fail issue. When the power is lost, the serial connection is lost (expected). I am seeing the signature of an NMI driver on the screen, but it isn't showing up in my log file. I am guessing that the missing serial output is getting lost in a buffer. Is there a way to flush serial data to the log file when the serial connection is lost?

Brian

Hi Brian,

What version of SecureCRT are you using?

How did you configure logging?

Please attach a screenshot that shows the data you hope to include in the log file. If unable to attach a screenshot (due to moderation), just post the above answers and the next time you should be able to include a screenshot.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the reply, it is an old version I am running 7.2.2. I start "log upon connection" and "Append to file". "Raw log" is left unchecked.

Sorry I couldn't attach and image.

Hi Brian,

You should be able to now. (Or did you mean you can't because the screenshot has sensitive data?)

If you can't post it here (for either reason), send it as an attachment to email to support@vandyke.com and reference "Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #13477" in the subject line.

Hi Brian,

This showed what you are capturing in the log.

What I'm looking for is:
Quote:
Please attach a screenshot that shows the data you hope to include in the log file.
I need that within context of where you are in the actual data that is getting captured.

Brenda,

It's in the attachment too. Before the screen shot of Notepad is a screen shot of the SecureCRT application. The specific signature I am looking for is:

"Uhhuh. NMI rece"

This is an indication that the NMI routine I am looking for has been called.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the clarification.

There must not be an actual line ending on that line. Info does not get written to the log until a line ending is received.

Hi Brian,

Raw logging was going to be one alternative we thought to suggest, but since you have timestamps, you can't get those with raw logs.

You previously called that "the signature of an NMI driver" but I see nothing that seems device specific. Was it redacted?

Is the data received always the same text?
