Is there a way to start logging by right-clicking the tab?

Often we have a need to starts logs in multiple tabs. It would be really easy and less error prone if we could right-click the tab and have an option for logging. Can this be done or would it require an enhancement? Maybe a keyboard shortcut to start logging on the tab in focus as well?

Hi dpflick,

I have created a feature request on your behalf in our product enhancement database for the ability to enable Log Session from a tab's right-click context menu. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #14213 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.

You can map the menu function MENU_LOG_SESSION to a hotkey or button on the button bar:
  • Options menu -> Edit Default Session
  • Go to Terminal / Emulation / Mapped Keys category
  • Press Map a Key... button
  • Press hotkey combo you wish to use
  • Under the Function dropdown, choose Menu Function
  • Under Menu Function dropdown, choose MENU_LOG_SESSION
  • OK out of the dialogs and choose Change ALL Sessions when prompted.
