long ssh handshake

In one network environment ssh handshake takes like 30s for securecrt, no problem for putty

packet capture shows that
tcp handshake
client protocol
server protocol
both side ack
server key init
client ack
16.5s nothing
client key init
client dh init
etc....

So why does securecrt waits so long to send client key init? It only happens in one network environment. server fingerprint is verified. I tested at other places with private IP but can't repro this problem

Thanks

We'll need to take a look at the trace options in order to find out what's happening at the protocol level. Can you send SecureCRT trace options to support@vandyke.com with subject Forum Thread 11008?

To enable trace options output:
  • Open SecureCRT's main File pull-down menu and select Trace Options.
  • Connect to the remote machine.
  • Once the problem occurs, make a mental note of the exact line where the delay occurs.
  • After SecureCRT moves past that line (after the delay is over), please right-click inside the terminal window and choose Select All, then right-click again and choose Copy to transfer the information to the Windows clipboard.
  • Open a text editor like 'Notepad', paste the information from the Windows clipboard into the editor program, save it as a text file, then send it as an e-mail attachment.
