Warning script indicating configuring

Hello there,

I need an option or warning method to indicate that I'm in config mode on a Cisco device. For example whenever I write "configure terminal" and press enter, all the characters on the screen will go Red. Or it will show a warning external window on the screen. When I exit from the config mode to privilege mode, It will show all the characters Green on the session window.

Is there a way to do that?

Best regards

Hi medusaman,

In a more simple approach to the problem, you can use keyword highlighting in SecureCRT to change the color of your Config prompt to serve as a visual indicator that you are in that mode. For example:

Please refer to our YouTube video:

Does changing the color of the Config prompt work for you?
