SecureCRT is Memory Intensive
I am using SecureCRT 5.0.0 (build 871).
I normally set my session buffer very high (say 32000, tell me if i am crazy). I have set my logical rows to 53 and logical columns to 139. When i set SecureCRT to full screen, rows=65 and cols=161 When i launch SecureCRT, my virtual memory usage is 3.5Mb. When i create a new session, my virtual memory size is 135Mb. This is after i connect to the server and i haven't run any command yet. When i create a tabbed session, my virtual memory is 267Mb. When i create another tabbed session, my virtual memory is 398Mb. With 3 tabbed session, my Memory Usage is 271Mb and my Virtual Memory is 398Mb. My main memory jumps from 8Mb to 140Mb the moment i open a second session and to 271Mb when i open a third session. Is it possible for the program to allocate less memory in the beginning? I am running low on resources. Is it possible for the program to allocate more memory when it requires it? Or am i configuring the program incorrectly? |
