SecureCRT as rowser default Telnet Handler Linux Mint

Is there a way to setup SecureCRT as the default handler for telnet links in Chrome or Firefox running on Linux Mint 18.02?

I'm not currently aware of the process to set the default Telnet/SSH handler in Chrome or Firefox. This is typically configured in the browser. You may be able to find some documentation from Google/Mozilla on the process to setup default network protocol handlers.
