hi,
I am using SecureCRT 6.7.5 on windows, I currently have logging setup for each and every session I connect to using the "log file" in "default session" under Options. I am trying to setup secureCRT to save log files by individual host rather than all files in one folder.... is there a way to do this? Thank you, |

Hello gates2010,
Could you give me an example of your current log file configuration in the Default Session? Do you connect via saved sessions or only by "ad hoc" connections (via Quick Connect or Connect Bar)? If you use saved sessions and the hostname in the Connection / SSH2 category (or Connection / Telnet, etc.) is what you want the folder named by, then you can use the %H substitution variable. For example:

Hi Brenda,
I mostly use saved sessions to connect, here is my current log filename configuration for default session: C:\SecureCRTlogs\%S_%Y_%M_%D_%h%m%s_%t.log I will try the config with the following and see if hostnames folders are automatically created... C:\SecureCRTlogs\%S\%S_%Y_%M_%D_%h%m%s_%t.log Thank you. |

Hi gates2010,
To clarify %S will use the session name (as displayed in the Connect dialog). If your sessions happen to be named by hostname, then you will be fine. ![]()
