spawn window from tab

Would be nice if there was a method to spawn a new window from a tab or basically detach a tab and make it its own window.

Thanks for the feedback. I've logged your request for the ability to spawn a new window from a tab and for the ability to drag a tab off of a SecureCRT window and have it open a new window into our feature request database for consideration in a future release.

Thanks,
Daniel

Thumbs up seconded

It was the first feature that jumped out at me as missing. I accidentally opened a second window for a connection, and wished I could drag its tab back into the first window.

Give us an inch, eh?

SecureCRT 5.0 uses separate processes for each window. So, once a new window is opened, there is no real easy way to get the connection and the content of one window merged with another.

In order to support this, we'd need to re-architect SecureCRT so that all SecureCRT windows are within the same process.

This type of change is too big at this point in the beta cycle. It may be too big a change for 5.1 - but more investigation is required.
