SecureCRT 5.0 alpha history

where exactly do we download the alpha? i never got any emails from vandyke telling me where to go to download any installers, despite an email on the 13th of december of last year telling me that i'd be given access.

This leads me to believe that i'd have actually gotten access, when none ever came:

Changes in SecureCRT 5.0 (Alpha) -- January 18, 2005

Changes:

• Added a migration wizard that migrates and integrates configuration data if SecureFX is installed.
• For encrypted data such as passwords and logon scripts, the encryption algorithm was changed from Blowfish to CAPI, which uses Microsoft cryptographic service providers to encrypt and decrypt data.
• Added support for foregrounding the specific session selected in Activator.

Bug fixes:

• SecureCRT crashed when a hostname was longer than 129 characters.
• The menubar, toolbar, and chat window did not work correctly with tabs. The first tab's settings now have precedence.
• Changes made to a disconnected session did not take effect if the session was not the first tab.
• Quick Connect sometimes connected to the wrong host.
• When attepting to download files to an unwritable path using Zmodem, cancelling the transfer caused a crash.
• The SSH2 compression level spinner control allowed values up to 100.
• VSFTP: Strange output was produced when the command mkdir was used with VShell running on Windows server 2003.

Changes in SecureCRT 5.0 (Alpha) -- February 4, 2005

Changes:

• Session tabs are automatically sized up to the width specified in the Global.ini file.
• The hotkey CTRL+F4 closes the current tab.
• For new installations, the "Session Tabs" option is on by default.

Bug fixes:

• Passwords and logon scripts were not being saved under Windows 2000.
• When attempting to connect to an Rlogin session, the following error was sometimes reported:
  "Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/IP address/port) is normally permitted."
• The foreground and background colors were inverted for 256-color xterm.
• For Rlogin, the status bar was not being updated when output was suspended and resumed.
• Using '&' in the tab name caused the next character to be underlined.
• In the Session Options dialog, the SSH2 branch sometimes remained in the Category tree even though neither SSH2 nor SFTP were selected protocols.
• When creating a new session that contains an illegal character, the error message was displayed twice.

Changes in SecureCRT 5.0 (Alpha) -- February 15, 2005

Changes:

• Added "Clone Session" to the tab menu, which creates a new session tab identitical to the current session. For SSH2, the transport is shared and re-authentication is not needed. For other protocols, authentication is required.
• Added support for line editing to SFTP tabs.
• Added a New Session Wizard that can be used to create new sessions.
• New sessions now have unique default names.
• URLs are automatically parsed from the hostname field in all dialogs.
• In the Global Options dialog, double clicking a firewall displays up Firewall Properties dialog.
• In the Global Options dialog, pressing the "delete" key delete the selected firewall.

Bug fixes:

• SecureCRT crashed when attempting to resize the window during logon.
• SecureCRT crashed if the network connection was lost when an SFTP tab was open.
• The port number was not being saved for SSH2 when the session was edited.
• When the option "Show session tabs" was changed in the Global Option dialog, the change did not take effect immediately.
• The Activator's recently used sessions list was sometimes empty although there were recently used sessions.
• In the description hover text in the Connect dialog, TAPI and Serial sessions said "hostname".
• When renaming a tab from the tab menu, using '&' in the name caused the next character to be underlined.
• Sending a zero length file to SecureCRT using Zmodem caused a hang.

Changes in SecureCRT 5.0 (Alpha) -- February 17, 2005

Bug fixes:

• Attempting to connect to a session from the Activator resulted in an error about the configuration folder not being found.
• Sessions had incorrect geometry when the "Disable resize" option was set and /S was specified on the command-line.
