Hi kayode,

Does your user account have access to log on to the Secure Shell server running on the remote machine?

It's almost always useful to take a look at "trace options output" which provides debugging information that may help us better understand what might be causing the problem.

In addition, it will be important to take a look at debug information from the secure shell server running on the remote machine.

Often times the information that these types of logs contain are not suitable for posting to a public forum.

Would you be able to gain access to the remote server's debug log information and send it along with your SecureCRT trace options output to support@vandyke.com with a subject of "VanDyke Forum thread #158"?

To enable trace options, click on the File pull down menu and select Trace Options. If you click the File pull down menu again you should see a check mark next to Trace Options. After trace options is enabled, try to connect to the server. Once the authentication failure occurs, select all the text within the SecureCRT terminal window (Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy) and then paste the trace options output into the body of your e-mail message.
