I would like to try to replicate the behavior. Can you tell me exactly what command sequence you used to generate your key-pair?

You mentioned that you changed special characters in the passphrase which seemed to resolve the issue when you connected via SecureCRT, can you please elaborate? What specific characters were part of the previous passphrase that are no longer there in the new passphrase?
