That explains the glitching I've been seeing on my system as well (cygwin + mutt). I switched over to another emulation to get around it. jcj, I'll switch back to xterm and see if your suggestion...

I think I've solved this, or at least figured out what's causing it. It looks like under certain circumstances, SCRT will lose a character while processing the escape sequence that loads a color...
