Different color per ip address class?

Hi, I'm using 8.7 beta (today's release) on Windows 10 and would love to use keyword highlighting so that I can have a different color for ClassA, B, and C address ranges.

Is that possible? I've spent a fair bit of time trying to google and find examples/answers, but not really getting anywhere.

Thank you!

Actually, what I would like may be slightly easier.

I would like to be able to do something like this:

10.*.*.* = color1
X.Y.*.* = color2
172.16.*.*= color3

Hi dmaker,

What are you having the difficulty with?

Developing the regular expressions to flag the data?
Quote:

10.*.*.* = color1
X.Y.*.* = color2
172.16.*.*= color3
Are the *s only ever digits in all cases?

Please provide some examples of what the actual data might look like.

Hi, what I would like to do is have any ip address that starts with 10. be one color, and address that starts with 172.16 anything be another color, and our public address space be another color. We have a /16 so X.Y. anything be another color.

I just really have no idea how to do this.

I assume it's possible?

Thanks

Hi dmaker,

You should watch the YouTube video on keyword highlighting.

The specific regular expressions to add to your keyword list that should work for your scenario is:

10\.\d*\.\d*\.\d*
X\.Y\.\d*\.\d*
172\.16\.\d*\.\d*

Hi, thank you for the response. I will check out that video when I have a moment.

I added your suggestions and it worked fine. It took me two tries to realize I needed to set them to regex :)

Thank you!

EDIT: on a related note, is there a way to make text blink?
