Debian Woody Emulation & Charactor Encoding Settings
1 Attachment(s)
I need to be able to use ncurses menu's while using SecureCRT with Debian Linux. At present they are corrupt displaying letters instead of lines. Gnerally it isn't a problem but I need to build kernels and can't use some of the menu items. When I connect to the same server using Putty it works fine. I've tried all differnet Emualtion and charactor encoding settings but can't get the menus to work right. I'd prefer not to have to change anyhting server side as I have a large number of servers I'd need to change, so a local setting would be great. I've attached a screen shoot of a make menuconfig command. Using the same settings with Red Hat boxes works fine - tested on RHEL 3 AS.

Got it now. Thanks for the pointer. This has been driving me crazy for ages. I spent hours searching for this.

It was support for "Install files for complex scripts - Thai" that was causing the problem. Using Xterm with Courier New Font and default character encoding and my ncurses menu's are working properly.
