Infinite scroll secure CRT

Hello, is possibile to activate the infinite scroll?

Hi stefanocog,

Do you mean infinite scrollback buffer?

If you want to increase the scrollback buffer, presently the max value is 128,000 lines. It's configured in the Terminal / Emulation category of SecureCRT's Session Options. You can configure a change to many (or all) sessions via these tips:
https://www.vandyke.com/support/tips/defaultset.html
https://www.vandyke.com/support/tips/multisessions.html
However, please understand that the higher value you enter, the more it may impact performance. :)

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for support for an infinite scrollback buffer (unlimited). Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12476" in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.

Is it accurate that this feature has gone backward from what appears to have been 128k lines at the time to 32k now in 9.x? It's increasingly common to need to output log files for vendor tech support where piping them through grep is not sufficient; we need the entire log in the scroll back so words can be searched for, and then the surrounding entries analyzed.

No, that's not accurate in my tests. The maximum scrollback buffer value is still 128,000 lines. :)

What did you see (posts, etc.) or experience (behavior-wise) that makes you think that's the case?

Ah, sorry, I found it now. I was in global options and was confusing command history (which states 32k limit) with default / host-specific session options, where I now found Emulation and the 128k scroll back.

I'd prefer greater than 128k too in that case. :-)

Sure, this thread is already in the feature request as noted in the prior post.
