SecureCRT on Ubuntu/Unity
Can you guys consider implementing the Global Menu bar in Unity for Ubuntu? I know it will only save like 20px of screen real estate. However, consider most applications on Ubuntu use this, SecureCRT kind of sticks out.

Hello SajanP,

What version of SecureCRT are you using?

While it does not currently include the functionality shown in your screenshots of hover or auto-hide, you can toggle the menu bar view using Alt+M in SecureCRT/Linux.

Please post if you would still like a feature request for the hover functionality.

Hi Brenda, thanks for your reply.

It's not really a feature. It's actually standard behavior in Ubuntu for all applications. I think you just have to properly use the new Ubuntu libraries for it.

Pretty much every single application in Ubuntu behaves this way. Most 3rd party applications didn't even have to do anything special.

Don't know if anyone at Vandyke uses Ubuntu, but if so, surely they'll know.

Basically the Title Bar of a window and the menu bar are merged into one thing saving screen space.

By default it shows the title bar, then when you mouse over it, it shows the menu.

Just would be nice aesthetically. Not a huge deal.

Hello SajanP,

It is a SecureCRT feature request because the product does not currently integrate with the Global Menu Bar in the fashion described. :-)

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to integrate menu/title bar functionality in SecureCRT (Linux) to work with Unity menu bar. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #11400" in the subject line.
