How to rename a file with vsftp get command

Is there a way to rename the local file name with a get?

Following command doesn't work:

get remteFileName localFileName

Same issue with put command
put localFileName remteFileName

Hi akd,

What version of vsftp are you using?

There are separate lrename and rename commands just for this purpose.

This is exactly what I was looking. I am using the latest version which I downloaded from your site recently.

Looks like the the reference page on your website is still referring to v7.0 and there is no lrename command for this version.

Hi akd,

Actually lrename was added in v6.6:

Changes in the VanDyke ClientPack 6.6 (Beta 1) -- August 3,
----------------------------------------------------------------
New features:

  • vsftp: Added vsftp command to rename (move) local files.

But it's likely the "man pages" just did not get updated.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to update Unix/Linux man pages online with current info.
