Success: SecureCRT + Linux console formatted screens
2 Attachment(s)
I was reading this old thread trying to figure out how to get some of the Red Hat console-formatted screens (e.g. commands like rhn_register, system-config-network) to look correct via an SSH session. In the past, I had been connecting to the console to get these kinds of things to look/work right. A pain.
I finally found a "working combination" with SecureCRT which I am documenting here. See the two attached screen shots, one of which details the config settings in SecureCRT and in the Linux shell. Goony |
Hi goony,
Thanks for the post. It looks like you are using Linux emulation and an alternate keyboard emulation of VT220. Did you find that the alternate keyboard emulation was necessary - certain keys don't work right for you unless you chose the alternate? I see that line drawing is working for you. A window shot showing Session Options / Terminal / Appearance may be helpful to some since it would show the font used, character encoding, and whether you needed to enable Use Unicode line-drawing characters. |

I used VT220 keyboard due to requirements of a particular text editor I am using under Linux.
