Failed to Open the host key database file

I have written a perl script that runs multiple SecureCRT windows independently to help with collecting data in a timely manner. Trouble is that each window by itself runs perfectly, collecting all the data from the network devices assigned to the window.

I have been running into a problem with the windows "colliding" with each other on the hostsmap.txt file. It seems that occasionally, the SecureCRT processes which are running try to access the file concurrently. One of the processes will hang with a Windows Dialog, "Failed to open the host key database file \**path ommitted**\KnownHosts\hostmap.txt

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I have tried to work with and around this exception. The only workaround I have been able to find is to physically click ok on the dialog -- the script continues to run normally.

I am open to ideas -- which is why I am posting here.

I believe that this is caused by one script writing a new key at the same time that another is trying to read.

I am using SecureCRT Version 6.5.3 (build 490).
