USB & serial connection?

Hi--

My laptop doesn't have any serial ports, db9 or db25. Will secureshell work with a usb-db9 converter using the serial protocol?

I have used SCRT with a USB to Serial adapter, and it works perfectly.

The trick is to figure out what COM port Windows has assigned the USB adapter. On my system it was COM5.

While we can not recommend or indorse a particular vendors products, we have used USB to serial converters from ATEN, IoGear, and Hawking that have performed relatively well for us here in house.
