Does the feature already exist, or would it be possible to add, the ability for Activator to cache the passphrases used to open public keys used in SecureCRT or SecureFX? While it's handy to have the key(s) available for use in multiple sessions once the first session is open without prompting for the same passphrase, it still requires a session to be open. I'd like to have the option to cache the passphrase while the Activator is running so that I can avoid the passphrase prompt for the durations that I specify (say, for as long as Activator is open (that is, infinitely long), or some finite period in minutes) when opening sessions when no currently-open session exists.

This feature does not currently exist, but I will add your request to our development database. It sounds like you tend to exit the clients and restart them throughout the day. Is that correct? About how many times do you restart each in a typical day? Is there a particular reason you prefer not to leave them running?

I log out of the systems between 5-10 times a day, which has the effect of exiting the client since the application terminates when the session is closed (that's the behavior on my computer). The Activator stays running, though. I often get logged out automatically when I'm idle on the remote system (something I can't control, so the system administrators tell me) and other times I prefer to log out just to make sure I don't inadvertently leave terminals open for safety's sake (if I'm careless I can type the wrong commands into a window or log out of my PC with a terminal still open and an application still running inside that, so logging out is something I try to make a habit of).

Thank you for the additional information. That helps us determine what implementation options would meet your needs. I have added your request to our development database. The current roadmap is full, but we will consider this feature for a future release of SecureCRT and SecureFX.
